Japanese Whisky Tasting 2025
Tasting of Japanese whiskies, Tuesday 13 May at 6.30 pm
After a year, it's time once again to sample Japanese whiskies. Last year, we introduced you to whiskies from young distilleries. This year's selection is a bit different, but extremely interesting.
Although Japan doesn’t have as long a whisky-making tradition as Scotland or Ireland, it has been 100 years since the country’s first distillery was established. In that time, the Japanese have achieved remarkable results in whisky production with their meticulous and deeply thoughtful approach. In recent years, more and more new distilleries have been emerging in Japan, creating truly fascinating whiskies.
At our next tasting at the Broken Bones distillery, we will be sampling some of these highly anticipated, hard-to-find, and exceptionally intriguing whiskies.
Join us on Tuesday, May 13, at 6.30 pm, as Boštjan Marušič, one of the three founders of Broken Bones Distillery, guides you through a tasting of six outstanding Japanese malt whiskies:
- Kyoto - The Kyoto Malt Whisky 43%
- Ichiro's Malt - Wine Wood Reserve 46%
- Komagatake - Single Malt Whisky 50%
- Kanosuke - Double Distillery 53% (from the distillery that was the winner of the popular vote at our last year's tasting)
- Yuza - Single Malt Whisky 55%
- Shizuoka - Pot Still K 55,5%
and a blended whisk:
- Gaiaflow - Blended M 48%
